Professor and Chairman of Oral and Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, Nasser institute Hospital and research Center (850 Beds). Formal Chairman of Maxillofacial departments of [Nasr City Insurance Hospital (550 Beds), Haram Hospital (350 Beds), Al-Helal Hospital, (400 Beds). Egypt air hospital (200 Beds), Luxor International Hospital (400

Beds) and Misr University Teaching Hospital (150 Beds)].

 

At the end of this period I was exposed to and capable of diagnosing and treating a variety of Oral and Maxillofacial cases including : 

 

  • 1       Facial Traumatology.

  • 2       Management of Oral and Maxillofacial infection.   

  • 3       TMJ surgery: including TMJ ankylosis (Gap Arthroplasty with interposition dermal graft), High condylar shave.

  • 4       Facial bone Osteotomies and Orthognathic Surgery including: Segmental Osteotomies, lamellar osteotomies Lefort I, II. Wassmond procedure, Bilateral Sagittal Split, Vertical subsigmiods, Genioplasties, Surgical assisted palatal expansions.

  • 5       Alveolar Clefts and palatal fistulae.

  • 6       Harvesting of bone grafts either; Rib or Iliac Crest

  • 7       Maxillary sinus Surgery. i.e. Antral Curettage, Caldwell-Luc, intranasal antrostomy,
    Management of Oro-antral fistulae, Sinus lifting procedures.

  • 8       Surgical Management of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathological lesions including; Benign and malignant lesions with reconstruction of the Residual defect. E.g.: biopsies, Excision of Cysts, Resection of the Mandible, Maxilla and Hemiglossectomy. Salivary gland tumors, Neck dissections.

  • 9       Applications of Distraction osteogenesis devices for Maxillofacial Deformity either extra- and intra-oral mandibular distraction, maxillary RED. Segment transfer distraction. Alveolar distraction.

  • -NB.  Oral and Maxillofacial unit (15 beds, 2 out-pateint clinics and 2operative surgical list with 2 day cases surgery),  at Nasser Institute Hospitals (850 beds) is an approved training centre for FDS, MFDS, MOS ,and MOMS-UK. This hospital also considered as a referal center for a wide rang of difficult and complicated cases with a league of expert neurosurgeons, ENT surgeons, Plastic Surgeons, Cardiothoracic, Surgical and Medical Oncologist, Orthopedics, and Pediatrians and Neonatologists.
    The unit particularly prides in treating a wide variety of cranio-facial syndromes, Facial traumas; especially old malunion cases, Head and Neck oncology, Orthognathic surgery, a remarkably large number of TMJ ankylosis and more than 300 cases of distraction osteogenesis.

·   Being received the Basic Clinical experience in Oral and maxillofacial Surgery in Egypt, with a league of expert related surgeons in my field, I would like to consolidate my knowledge and gain more experience, and higher postgraduate qualifications.

·   On the short run, I am planning to complete the clinical part of MRCS exam on Oct 2008 and the FFDSRCSI (OS) on May. 2009.

·  I am seeking a Career job in which I will be able to continue my academic activities, and participate in Clinical and Academic Research in my field, and achieve a better position.
